Mr. Amritratna Shakya was born to father Manik Ratna Shakya and mother Dharmadevi Shakya on Nepal Sambat 1090, Thimlagah Dutiya, Basubar. Residing in Chhatrapati, he has continuously written songs, ghazals, and short stories, publishing literary works in various magazines. He won the 22nd Inter-Campus Nepal Bhasa Literary ConferenceHe secured first prize in poetry, first prize in the poetry competition held on the occasion of the twelfth anniversary of Sanjhya: Sahitya Pala, first prize in poetry at the 31st Virat Nepal Bhasa Literary Conference, and second prize in story at the 27th Virat Nepal Bhasa Literary Conference, among various other awards at different times. Over 60 of his songs have been recorded in both Nepal Bhasa and Khas Nepali languages. Mr. Amritratna Shakya also composes melodies for songs. The world-famous song sung by renowned singer Mr. Premdhwaj Pradhan, When my eyes meet yours व Your touch on me was written by him.
