The renowned singer Premdhoj Pradhan was born to Ratnadhwaj Pradhan and Pranadevi Pradhan in Asar, 1994 B.S. in Chautara, Sindhupalchok. His childhood was spent in Thaimadu Tole. In his youth, he also acted as an artist in stage plays. His mother was an artist who showcased her musical art in programs held at the palace. From his mother, he received initial knowledge and encouragement in music, which drew him towards the field of music. He also played the role of a female lead character (heroine) in the stage plays performed by young people gathered in Thaimadu Tole during Gunpunhi and Yenya Punhi.He performed dances and sang songs. The singing talent showcased on the stage of the theatrical plays made him a top-ranking singer in the field of music in Nepal.
After receiving music training from Ustad Ganesh Lal, he passed the singing voice test conducted at Radio Nepal in V.S. 2011, at the age of sixteen. Radio Nepal played Prem Dhwaj Pradhan's first song 'Yaad Kasaiko Aayhechha, Yo Andheri Raatma'. By singing the song 'Goreto Tyo Gauko Pailyauna Sakina', he won the first prize in Radio Nepal's competition in 2021 V.S. Making guitar beats the main foundation, he was a pioneer in advancing Nepal's modern music.Similarly, Prem Dhwaj Pradhan recorded his songs on a long-play disk.was the first Nepali to do so. He made a historical record by singing a duet for the film Maitighar with Usha Mangeshkar, under the music direction of famous Bollywood music director Jaidev.
Almost all of his songs are popular in the field of Newar music. 'Rajamati Kumati', 'Wa Chhu Galli, Thwa Chhu Galli', 'Ji Wai Chwana Upahar Jwana', 'Timila Banla Bhatibhati', 'Ji Prem Dhathe Yadi Prem Khosa', 'Bala Balachingu Mikha' etc. are timeless songs. With a very simple nature, he has sung many songs in both Newar and Khasbhasa. His voice is so good that he has been honored as the 'Golden Voice of Nepal'.
Premdhoj Pradhan, highly respected by the nation as a romantic and melodious singer in Nepal's modern music scene, passed away from the world due to the Corona disease in Baisakh 2078 BS at the age of 82.
