After seven years This is a seven-act play written by litterateur centenarian Satyamohan Joshi. It was published in Nepal Sambat 1091 by Mr. Anuraj Joshi of Lalitpur. After seven years Pudhā Pyākhan is a play based on a historical event in Nepal Bhasa, specifically the true story of the expulsion of eight Nepali monks from Nepal in Nepal Sambat 1061, who were preaching Buddhism. The then Rana rulers feared that the people would gain consciousness from the monks' sermons of wisdom and virtue, which might undermine their rule. They expelled these eight monks who were preaching Dharma in Newar language in Nepal: Bhikkhu Prajnananda, Bhikkhu Dhammalok, Bhikkhu Subhodhananda, Bhikkhu Prajnarashmi, Shramanera Prajnarasa, Shramanera Ratnajyoti, Shramanera Aggadhamma, and Shramanera Kumar Kashyap.The monks were expelled from the country. This play features scenes from Nepal as well as Sarnath in India. The main objective of this drama is to highlight the contribution of monks to Nepal Bhasa literature.
