Mr. Achyutananda RajopadhyayaHe was born to father Chetananda Rajopadhyaya and mother Chaityanyavaneshwari Rajopadhyaya on Nepal Sambat 1047 Kaulathwa Chaturdashi in Nyokha Tole, Kathmandu. His early education took place at Durbar School Sanskrit Vidyalaya in Kathmandu, after which he passed Acharya in Vedanta education from Banaras University. After returning to Nepal, he, who believed that girls should also be educated, took the initiative to establish Kanya Mandir Secondary School. From the establishment of Kanya Mandir School until his retirement, he taught Sanskrit, Nepali, and fine arts subjects there.He used to teach.
Mr. Achyutananda is not only a priest of the Newa community, but also the chief priest of the Taleju Bhavani Temple at Hanumandhoka and the chief priest of the Dhisinamurti at Pashupati in Gwal. Mr. Achyutananda's most significant work for the Nepal Bhasa (Newari language) was to translate the Swasthani Dharma Vrat Katha, which is recited in the month of Magh, into Nepal Bhasa Devanagari script and publish it as a book. This Swasthani book was published in Nepal Sambat 1100, after three years of hard work, with the aim that everyone should read it. When it was published in Devanagari script, this book became very popular in the Newa community. This book helped to read the Swasthani story.Not only was support provided, but the Nepal Bhasa language was also promoted. Today, Newars read this very book and narrate the Swasthani story from house to house during the month of Magh. Similarly, he translated the Hitopadesha stories from Sanskrit into Nepal Bhasa, at that time. Appreciating his contribution, Kanya Mandir Secondary School and other institutions have also honored him. Achyutananda passed away in Nepal Sambat 1111.
