Mr. Yagya Bahadur and Kumari Shrestha's son, Mr. Amir Bahadur Pradhan, was born in Phasi Chyab, Kathmandu in 1934. He completed his Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Vishwa Hindu University, India in 1955. Later, in 1966, he received his Ph.D. from the University of London, UK. He made unparalleled contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Nepal, particularly as a pioneer in developing indigenous herbal medicine and establishing drug industries based on them. Later, regarding Nepal's science-relatedpolicy-making, Amir Bahadur also made notable contributions. He served as a member of the Nepal Government's High-Level Advisory Committee on Science and worked for a long time as the Executive Director of Royal Drug Limited. He was also a member of scientific research institutions like RONAST and RICAST.
