Dr. Rudralaxmi Shrestha was born to father Madanlal Joshi and mother Jwaladevi Joshi in Nepal Sambat 1063 in Lalitpur. She is the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Linguistics in Nepalbhasa from Tribhuvan University. Her Ph.D. topic was a descriptive study of Dolakha Newar language. Dr. Rudralaxmi Shrestha, who taught Nepalbhasa at the Central Department of Nepalbhasa, has also written in all three languages: Nepalbhasa, Nepali, and English.
Dr. Shrestha's articles published in the field of Nepalbhasa are primarily related to language studies.
