Who's Who List

The book 'Who is who in Nepalbhasa', a list of contributors to Nepalbhasa literature, compiled and edited by Mr. Phanindraratna Vajracharya, is a highly important work in the Nepalbhasa field. Published after his extensive efforts, it was released by the Nepalbhasa Academy in Nepal Sambat 1123, post-establishment, as part of their initiative to publish foundational Nepalbhasa texts, featuring introductions of significant personalities from various fields.

Prior to this book, Nepali language writers have published biographies of themselves or others. However, no book has been published collectively introducing personalities who have worked in the field of Nepali language. Therefore, this directory book is the first of its kind in the field of Nepali language. Although the cover of this book states that it features contributors to Nepali literature, it provides introductions not only to writers who have contributed to pure literature but also to those who have excelled in music, art, culture, religion, etc., as well as donors who have published books, and individuals who have contributed to the promotion of the Nepali language. This work has been done in this book.

This book provides biographies of 1581 personalities who have contributed in various ways to the development of Nepal Bhasa and its literature. In the book, the names of such personalities are listed alphabetically, while their introductions are arranged chronologically. In this way, this book includes the introductions of creators from the handwritten era of Nepal Bhasa, i.e., the Malla period creators such as Rajpandit Manika, Luntabhadra, Kalahradev, King Rana Malla, King Mahendra Malla, etc., up to today's creators, i.e., those who published books before Nepal Sambat 1123.
