Parasara Narayan Suwal of Kathmandu was the first Nepali to earn a Ph.D. in Food Technology from an Indian university in 1953.
He was also the first Registrar of Tribhuvan University. With a vision to expand science education in Nepal, he also established Ananda Kuti Science College.
