Pushpalata Pradhan Shrestha, born in Nepal Sambat 1062, was a storyteller who successfully published the first collection of stories (Nepal Sambat 1083) among female writers. She is considered a strong female storyteller in Nepal Bhasa. Her fundamental storytelling tendency was to depict the exploitation and unequal treatment faced by women in her stories, with the aim of raising awareness among them. She also raised a voice of protest in her stories, stating that if given the opportunity, women can also progress like men, and women will not always tolerate injustice.
