Mr. Sharad Kasa: is a pioneer who has been actively involved throughout his life in the Newar community and Nepal Bhasa movement. His full name is Sharadveer Singh Kasa:kar. And he adopted the surname Kasa:chhen after his name for identification. He was born on Nepal Sambat 1070 Pohelathwa 12. His father's name is Ratnavir Singh Kasa: and his mother's name is Heradevi Kasa:. He has been actively associated with Layta: Dabu, the organization that first organized a motorcycle rally in Nepal to celebrate Nepal Sambat New Year, since his school and college days.
He was the president of Nepal Lipi Guthi and Kasa Tadhani Guthi, the founding president of Nepal Blood Donors Association (Blodan), a voluntary blood donor organization, and also the vice-secretary of Nepal Bhasha Manka Khala, Yen. He was also a central member of the Nepa Rastriya Party. While he was the president of Nepal Lipi Guthi, he worked with Allen Bylochan Tuladhar, the president and country director of Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal, to include Nepal Lipi in Unicode. After the constitution of B.S. 2048, the first school in Nepal to teach through Nepal Bhasha medium was established.He was also a founder of Jagatsundar Bwanekuthi. Thus, he, who was always at the forefront of working for the upliftment of his language, caste, and society, passed away at the age of 66 on Nepal Sambat 1136 Dillathwa Jyapunhi.
